Tali Beach, Nasugbu Batangas

I was quite excited when I heard we are going to Tali Beach Resort for my birthday weekend. It was such an exciting countdown since I haven't been to the beach this year, nor have I had any trip outside Manila for a Vacation.

Tali Beach was in Nasugbu Batangas. Off we went from Fairview to Batangas at 6AM. There is a slight delay due to some MMDA officer thinking we were riding a Colorum Van. (This shall qualify for an entirely different post, I'd say).

Ready as we all are, we arrived in Tali Beach Subdivision, with high hopes of a great swim day. The weather is lovely, it is great for a late afternoon Swim. =)

We were directed inside the Subdivision. The Place was not yet as developed as the Terrazas de Punta Fuego. Well I thought maybe that is why we have not heard much about This membership place.  \Our friend has advised us that there are is no Clubhouse, and no pool to swim in. So We are only headed to the beach side.

The house we rented is Php 17,500. It was a huge house, with plenty of beds to sleep on. I counted 4 big rooms, with at least 4 beds in each room, All air-conditioned.

The Kitchen was well ventilated, Complete with kitchen utensils, knives, gas stove, microwave oven, plates, cooking pans, and so on.

Up we went to the roof top to further explore the house; It was a huge space, where the whole family and friends can stay and unwind and have a nice long chat feeling the cool wind blowing.

The House had a rooftop Jacuzzi too! The view was that of the Sea, when facing the back of the mini pool.

So we prepared for lunch, rested for a while and to the beach we go. =) It was a 3 minute drive from the house we rented to the beach sides; There were many mini beaches along the "Beach Drive" of the subdivision. There was the Tali Beach, Palm Beach, Marina Beach.

The Stairs going down to the beach side wasn't that bad. SO excitement was still in me... not until I was close enough to the beach that I saw piles of trash in the water! If you swim, you will literally be swimming with the garbages! What a heart dropping scene when all you want is to take a dip in the sea. =(

We stayed and took photos of the surrounding... It was great except for the huge pile of plastic bags, chips packages, tetra, juices, and some other garbages you'd normally see in your black bag.

We were told to try out the other beaches, so we went to Marina Beach, just a minute from where we first stationed. But this beach was no different. There were a lot of dead corals on the beach side, there were a lot of small rocks too, and dried weeds all over.

Overall ratings: Nope this beach is not for Swimming. I would not even dare come back to this side of Nasugbu. It is way too costly for a dip in the small Jacuzzi, and not be able to enjoy the Beach. Why would I even travel 3 hours for a small pool? =(

THOR Hammer USB (Jollibee collectibles)

Well well well!!! Aren't we all excited about Thor's coming back in the movie houses? =) Well I am, of course. he he together  with the excitement I feel was the urge of wanting to own my very own THOR Hammer 1Gb USB!
How do we get this USB anyway?! so here's the deal... go to any Jollibee store and buy yourself a cheesy bacon mushroom meal and add 95 pesos =)
My first attempt was unsuccessful, Thor's hammer eluded me because the Crossings Branch ran out of stocks just 3 days after the commercial aired... =( The second attempt was when my officemates opted to buy the said sandwich meal, others did not want to avail of the USB and so i got their slots. So excited,  we waited... but a call came and we were advised they already have no stocks left. Second attempt is a failure... so maybe its meant to be... i am not to own one afterall. =(
Then one weekend mom said she was hungry and asked to go to jollibee to have a small meal before hitting the groceries... an idea came and there I was asking if they have hammers left(hahah) before purchasing the meal required. Well I got two!! So it probably is true that third's a charm! yihaaa.

So a rough estimate of how huge the hammer was... is the photo comparison. the hammer was almost as big as the burger's box in length. It  was rather heavy. The USB dock was in the hammer handle, and well do keep your receipt as I have a friend whose USB was not working.

Lazer Tag night and a good pizza!

I live so nearby and its just about a 10 minute ride from our place to the Centris Walk... but I have never been to the place. It was only when I have scheduled a Lazer tag event with my officemates that we went to the location... it is beautiful there! Its like a small BGC! =)

Okay so our main agenda was to play a Lazer Tag Game. We got ours from an ensogo deal and the game was worth of 200 for 15 minutes, is only 95 pesos. it was quite a deal so we did availed of it. :D

The place was a bit small when you go up the venue, There were 20 of us so it was a bit small for us, there were some kids in the place.. and we were adults! haha We decided to divide ourselves in 2 teams, and from there we planned how we will beat the other team. so the goal is to shoot as much as you can, and to not be shot!

It was only 15 minutes, but it was such a workout!! You need to bring a face towel and an extra shirt! Its no fun to be sweaty after such a game =) So it was Green vs Blue and our Team won!! :D

They have many restaurants and established within the area. And what caught our attention was the Larry and Mau restaurant. They are sister company with the Uncle cheffy so we did order from the Uncle cheffy and also some from the Larry and mau.

Uncle Cheffy's one of the best pizza i have tasted, seriously speaking! =) And... Larry and Mau's got the biggest burger I have seen served in the City! You really should try it.

Mexican Hashbrown Recipe

Who wouldn't want or love a hashbrown dinner topped with fresh tomato salsa, and ground beef curry! And that's not all, you get to drizzle it with cheese as well... Yummy!

So here is my recipe for this wonderful treat - lunch, dinner, snack - whatever time you feel like munching down some goodness then this one is the easiest to make! =)

What you need:
Ground beef
Curry Powder
Chopped onions
Tomato
Pickles
Cheese spread
Hashbrowns

What you need to do:
1. Cook the curry, sautee it with onions (chopped), almost cooked, pour in some of the curry powder until the meat's oil  turns a bit yellow (due to the powder). put some black pepper if you like or some chili powder if you prefer it to be a bit spicy.
2. Set aside when done, make sure to drain the ground beef from the oil.
3. Put the hashbrowns to oven toaster (still frozen). this will brown the potato while you prepare for the salsa
4 Chop the tomato into bits and pieces - remove the seeds if you may, make sure you still got some tomato juice with the chopped vegetable.
5. Scoop about 2 tablespoons of pickles and include in your chopped tomatoes, do not forget to put some black pepper and iodized salt to taste.

How to Serve:

Get the hashbrown from the oven, put it in a plate, add the drained beef (about 2 tablespoons), put the salsa on top of the beef, and pour in some cheese spread if you like. =)

Enjoy!!

Chinese Sayings / Proverbs

In Line with the Chinese New Year celebration, As everyone else is sharing what the Dragon Year will bring us, I am sharing Chinese sayings. These are from a collection of my quotable quotes. I love quotes or wise sayings and I have a collection of some very good ones for us to  reflect on.

1. The best thing is to be respected, the next, is to be loved; it is bad to be hated, but still worse to be despised.
2. Worldly fame and pleasure are destructive to the virtue of the mind; anxious thoughts and apprehensions are injurious to the health of the body.
3. Unsullied poverty is always happy, while impure wealth brings with it many sorrows.
4. The gem cannot be polished without friction, nor man perfected without trials.
5. Good fortune is a benefit to the wise, but a curse to the foolish.
6. A wise man adapts himself to circumstances, as water shapes itself to the vessel that contains it.
7. The best thing is to be respected, the next, is to be loved; it is bad to be hated, but still worse to be despised.
8. A foolish husband fears his wife; a prudent wife obeys her husband.
9. A vacant mind is open to all suggestions, as the hollow mountain returns all soundsa.
10. By nature all men are alike, but by education very different.
11. He who toils with pain will eat with pleasure.
12. The fame of good men's actions seldom goes beyond their own doors, but their evil deeds are carried a thousand miles' distance.
13. The doctrine that enters only into the ear is like the repast one takes in a dream.
14. Do not anxiously expect what is not yet come; do not vainly regret what is already past.
15. Do not consider any vice as trivial, and therefore practise it; do not consider any virtue as unimportant, and therefore neglect it.
16. It is not easy to stop the fire when the water is at a distance; friends at hand are better than relations afar off.
17. A truly great man never puts away the simplicity of a child.
18. The man of worth is really great without being proud; the mean man is proud without being really great.
19. Those who cause dissensions in order to injure other people are preparing pitfalls for their own ruin.
20. Let every man sweep the snow from before his own doors, and not busy himself about the frost on his neighbour's tiles.
